I feel like this is the part where I should put myself into a box that defines who I am. “Stay at home mom”, “mom of 3 girls” or something similar, you all know the titles. Perhaps that is where the stereotypes begin, when we give them to ourselves?
I never knew judgement until I became a mom. I have often been criticized for being a helicopter mom and until recently, I would get defensive about it. Then I met a mom on the play ground, following her daughter around, ensuring her safety but what stood out more for me, was how much she was enjoying the time with her daughter. How can we be criticized for wanting to spend time with our kids? They will only need us for such a short time, so for now I am going to be there, every step of the way.
There are so many blog posts about feeling exhausted and the struggles of mom life, this one is different. This is for the moms who love everything about being a mom and perhaps for other moms to understand us better? We don’t do this to make you feel inadequate, we just genuinely love spending time with our kids, sometimes more so than the adults at a party 🤣
So yes, I’m a boy mom, currently at home, studying my degree at 35… and I’m here to say being a mom is the best title in the world!
